Why lime breathes
Lime is one of the oldest building materials. It is porous: it draws excess moisture from the air and releases it again on dry days. That is why a room with lime walls feels more even.
The same quality resists mould. Lime is alkaline, so spores cannot settle on its surface.

Lime hardens over time, drawing carbon dioxide from the air and slowly turning back into stone. A well-made wall lasts for decades.
